November 22nd

the fabric of grace

One year ago yesterday we buried the first of our two classmates who would die by their own hand during our junior year in high school.

Six months ago the 13th (on May 13th), we said said goodbye to our second classmate.

Today, November 22nd, is Survivors of Suicide Loss day.

With everything that has happened this past year, I want to take a moment to pause, and share with you this realization: I’m still here. If you’re reading this, you are too. This simple statement may carry more weight for me and those I go to school with, or for those who recently found themselves having to deal with a loss, a divorce, or any other personally catastrophic life event that was handed to them. (I’m going to focus on the events of my own life for the sake of this post.)
